Leonardo da Vinci. GAY?

This morning was a real shocker for me because I read from a newspaper that Leonardo da Vinci was gay. What?! He's a gay? For real? Oh, I still can't believe it and I'm still in shock because I really idolise that man. As I read between the lines, it seems that all the words that describe him as gay can't really sink in on my mind because every time I look into his artworks, it seems that a perfect man has no problem with his gender. I'm not against him being gay, I was just shocked that a great painter like him has also dark and deep secrets. Who would forget his Monalisa painting? Those perfect lines through Monalisa's face were perfectly created and even the colors used were extremely superb. According to the newspaper, if you'll just notice some of da Vinci's paintings, the theme was very womanish and at the same time, it will also arouse some of men's passion about sex (READ: EROTIC). Now I get the point, maybe I'm just too blind to see the other side of da Vinci. I'm just only focusing on his paintings, him as a painter, and not on the person behind those world-class paintings. Though that article gave me a hard time accepting the fact of da Vinci's sexual preferences, my admiration for him still lingers on and being gay doesn't mean that a person is worthless. A proven example is Leonardo da Vinci, yes he's gay but he deserved all the accolades he received during his prime years and up to this date! :)

Resist Their Attempts to “Ground” You: Embrace Your Wicked Self

If you've spent your life as a misunderstood outcast and always challenged traditional notions of good and evil, yet you are still an empathetic and deeply compassionate soul, you are a variant of "Elphaba Thropp." Wicked is based on the Broadway musical, story of the Witches of Oz: Glinda the Good and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of The West was originally adapted from a novel, The Wizard of Oz , but reimagined. Both witches explore their complex friendship until some twist of events leads to Elphi’s vilification. Wicked is a beloved work of art for a dear friend of mine, who has shared how it profoundly changed his life and perspectives. When he encouraged me to watch the movie, I agreed, even though I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The strength of the movie lies in the performances of the lead actors -- the chemistry between Ariana Grande (Galinda/Glinda) and Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba/Elphi) serves as the emotional core of the story. The visuals and produ...

You’re my favorite (Gin) King/ Weekend Warrior

It’s already been two weeks since the news circulated all over the internet particularly on the sports page of the newspaper, news sports program and PBA Sports that Sunday Salvacion is not a Gin king anymore. At first, I don’t have any idea about the trade issue because I haven’t received any texts from my friends in Ginebra. Then I opened my Facebook account and looked at Itay Sunday’s (Yes, we fondly called him Itay and her wife as Inay Chin because they treated their fans as one of their “anakis”...) wall/ profile in FB and I read some wall posts about the trade issue. Most of his fans were deeply saddened on his departure in Ginebra and others were saying good luck in his new team which is the Barako Bull. They assured Itay that whatever happens, their support is 101% guaranteed. According to some news, Itay’s contract in Ginebra was already expired and the management didn’t renew his contract and decided to bring him up in Barako Bull. When I heard this news, it may sound...

Miss Thy Mother

Miss Thy Mother  On special days  you  are a weeper, As you miss thy mother . Grief flows like a deep and wide river, Even the lilies around are deep mourners. Remember the days filled with wreaths, thoughts, and kindly folk near? They  said:  she’s now happy as she ascends her way up there, Adding that  no  more pain as her soul’s now free, But for a child, it’s hard to find solace , you see . Yes, you miss thy mother ,  One great soul -- beyond compare. She filled your life with love, wonder, and utmost care, Her prayers were like your guardian that follows as you wander. When days of mourning are here once again, then again and again – just surprisingly returning; You cling to your memories together, Because her love is a comforting den, a halo that shines and never dies – brighter as a flame . 💜
